Describe what you want — "fit a queen bed, a desk and storage while keeping the doorway clear" — and get editable proposals you can preview before anything changes.
Before you start
- A subscription. The Free plan includes Build with AI to help you start, but not the assistant.
- A project with at least one room.
- AI processing enabled for your workspace (it is by default; owners and admins can turn it off).
Steps
- Open the Assistant panel in the editor.
- Describe your goal in plain language. Mention constraints: "keep the window wall clear", "only change furniture".
- Review the proposals. Each one explains what it would change and highlights the affected objects with a before/after preview.
- Choose Apply to accept a proposal. It becomes one normal step in your history — Mod+Z undoes the whole thing.
- Not quite right? Refine your request or ignore the proposal; nothing changes until you apply.
What it can and can't do
- It proposes typed editor changes (move, add, resize, re-material items and similar) that are validated against your real geometry and our catalog — not pictures.
- It works on the design revision you asked about. If you or a teammate changed the same items meanwhile, applying asks you to refresh rather than overwriting work.
- It respects locked items and states clearly if a proposal would change walls.
- It can be wrong. Proposals are suggestions; always review dimensions and clearances.
- It does not give structural, code-compliance or permit advice.
Privacy
- When you use AI features, the relevant part of your design (a compact text summary of the rooms and items involved, plus your request) is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate the proposal.
- Your data is not used to train AI models.
- Prompts aren't stored in our logs by default; each proposal records which provider and model produced it.
- Opt out: workspace owners and admins can turn off external AI processing in Workspace settings → Privacy. AI features (assistant and automatic blueprint detection) then become unavailable; everything else, including manual blueprint tracing, keeps working.
Fair use
AI requests are unlimited for subscribers: no daily or monthly caps. One external AI request runs per workspace at a time; if another is running, yours waits for the slot and starts automatically instead of being refused. A short-term per-person burst limit stops automated scripts, and a service-wide safety limit can briefly pause AI during unusual demand. See Fair use explained.
Common problems
- "AI processing is turned off for this workspace." Ask an owner or admin, or keep working manually.
- The proposal ignores part of my request. Break it into smaller requests, one room at a time.
