Terms of service

1. Who these terms are for

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] ("we", "us"), which provides HomeDesigner.io ("the service"). They apply to everyone who creates an account, belongs to a workspace, views a shared link or otherwise uses the service. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Accounts and workspaces

• You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in methods secure. Turn on two-factor authentication where you can.
• Your account is the unit of subscription. One subscription covers every workspace you own. You are the Owner of those workspaces and responsible for the subscription; only you can see and manage its billing.
• You're responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to your workspaces.

3. The subscription

• One plan: USD 29.00 per month per account. It covers every workspace you own and includes one full seat (you). Each additional full-seat person (an Admin or Editor in any of your workspaces) is USD 10.00 per month, counted once across all your workspaces. Guests who view or comment and public-link viewers are free.
• Prices are in US dollars. Applicable taxes are added at checkout and shown on invoices.
• Every feature and unlimited workspaces, projects, floors, variants, uploads, storage, exports, renders, AI requests and version history are included. There are no tiers, credits, watermarks or daily or monthly caps. Per-file technical limits and fair scheduling are described in the Acceptable use policy.
• Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal through hosted checkout.
• Seat changes: if you pay by card through Stripe, added seats are charged pro rata for the rest of the current period and become available once that payment succeeds. PayPal doesn't prorate: a seat increase you approve in PayPal applies from your next billing cycle. Seat reductions take effect at the next renewal.
• Refunds and disputes: there are no automatic refunds for seat reductions or partial periods, except where the law requires them. Refund requests and payment disputes are handled by our support team; please contact us first.
• Failed payments: we notify you and retry. Your workspaces stay editable for a 7-day grace period, then become read-only until payment is updated.

4. The Free plan

You can use the service on the Free plan without a payment method. It includes:

• One workspace with one floor plan (one design)
• Full 2D and 3D editing of that plan
• Explore every sample home, or copy one as your plan
• Exports of your plan: PDF to scale, PNG, SVG, CSV, DXF, GLB and more
• Renders made in your browser, downloaded to your device
• Build with AI to help you start (up to 3 plans a day)

It doesn't include:

• More floor plans, designs (alternatives) and workspaces
• Inviting teammates or guests
• Uploading files (images, 3D models, textures)
• Saving renders to the cloud (the project's render gallery)
• The editor's AI assistant and AI wall detection
• Browsing the full save history

Build with AI on the Free plan has the daily limits described in the Acceptable use policy. When you subscribe, your Free plan work becomes part of your subscription.

5. Cancellation and your data

• You can cancel at any time. Editing continues until the end of the paid period; afterwards your workspaces are read-only and you can still view and download everything.
• If you pay by card through Stripe, you can undo a cancellation before the paid period ends. A cancelled PayPal subscription can't be resumed; you can subscribe again after the paid period ends.
• We keep workspace data for at least 90 days after a subscription ends, and notify you before deletion. You can export your data at any time.
• Deleting a workspace or account is a separate, explicit action with a recovery window.

6. Your content

• You keep all rights to your designs, uploads and other content. You give us the limited permission needed to host, process, display and back up your content to provide the service to you and the people you share with.
• Content you share via a public link can be seen by anyone with the link until you revoke it.
• You confirm you have the rights to upload what you upload.

7. Our content

The software, the built-in catalog of original furniture models, materials and sample homes are ours. While subscribed, you may use catalog items, materials and samples in your designs, renders and exports, including for commercial work.

8. Not professional advice

The service is a design and communication tool. Plans, dimensions, clearance checks, sun studies and AI suggestions are not structurally validated, code-compliant or permit-ready, and are not a substitute for a qualified professional.

9. AI features

AI features are optional and may produce incorrect suggestions. Nothing changes your design until you apply it. When enabled, relevant data is processed by our AI provider; see the Privacy policy. Workspace Owners and Admins can turn external AI processing off. Fair-use rules for AI, including the Free plan's Build with AI limits, are in the Acceptable use policy.

10. Acceptable use

You agree to follow the Acceptable use policy.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but can't promise it will be uninterrupted. Current status is published at /status. We may change features; we won't remove included functionality from the plan or introduce usage caps without notice and your right to cancel.

12. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is", and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Termination

We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, after notice where reasonable. You can appeal as described in the Acceptable use policy.
