A

Advisory
Design guidance (such as a tight walkway) that you may choose to accept. Not a building-code check. Compare Collision.
Asset library
Your workspace's uploaded files — images, textures and 3D models — available to its projects.

C

Calibration ruler
A printed scale bar on PDF exports. Measure it with a real ruler to confirm the sheet printed to scale.
Centreline
An imaginary line through the middle of a wall's thickness. Gross area is measured to centrelines.
Clear (inside) dimension
The distance between the inner faces of walls — the space you can actually use.
Collision
Two things occupying the same space, like a sofa through a wall or a door swinging into a table. Compare Advisory.

D

Demolish (phase)
Marks a wall or item that will be removed in a renovation. Shown dashed and red.

E

Existing (phase)
Marks what's there today, as opposed to Proposed changes. Useful for before/after renovation plans.

F

Free plan
How everyone starts, with no card: one workspace with one floor plan (one design), plus the sample homes and Build with AI to help you start. Subscribing lifts its limits — see How pricing works.
Full seat
A paid seat for someone who edits designs or administers a workspace (Owner, Admin, Editor). It's counted once per person across all of the owner's workspaces, and the owner's own seat is included in the base price.

G

Gross area
Floor area measured to wall centrelines. Compare Net area.
Guest
A free collaborator who can view and comment on the projects they're invited to.

H

Hosted opening
A door, window or passage that belongs to a wall and moves with it.

I

Inspector
The panel on the right of the editor that shows and edits the exact properties of what's selected.

N

Net area
Floor area inside the wall faces — what you'd cover with flooring. The default shown on rooms.

P

Public link
A read-only share link anyone can open without an account. Can expire, be password-protected and be revoked.

R

Read-only
A workspace state after a subscription ends or a payment grace period passes: you can view and download, but not edit.
Revision
A numbered state of a design. Every saved change creates a new revision; history lets you restore any of them.

S

Sample explorer
Opens any sample home in 2D and 3D without saving anything. Choose Use this sample to make your own editable copy.
Snapping
The pointer locking onto corners, wall centres, the grid or alignment guides while drawing. Toggle with S.
Sun study
A visual simulation of sunlight and shadows for your location, true north, date and time.

T

True north
The direction of geographic north on your plan, used for sun studies.

V

Variant
A named alternative design within the same project, such as "Option A" and "Option B".
Version
A named point in a design's history you saved deliberately, e.g. "Before moving the kitchen".

W

Wall thickness
How thick a wall is. Interior partitions are often 4½″ (115 mm); exterior walls are thicker.
