Give everyone the access they need — and only pay for people who edit.
Before you start
- To change roles you must be the workspace Owner or an Admin.
Roles at a glance
| Role | Projects | Members & billing | Seat cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owner | All projects; can transfer ownership | Full control, including the account's billing | Included in USD 29.00/month |
| Admin | All projects unless restricted | Manage members; no access to the owner's billing | USD 10.00/month full seat |
| Editor | Assigned projects; edit and export | No billing or member admin | USD 10.00/month full seat |
| Guest (viewer/commenter) | Assigned projects; view and comment | None | Free |
| Public-link visitor | Only the published snapshot or approved live view | None | Free |
Prices are in USD, plus applicable tax. One subscription covers all of the owner's workspaces, and a person with a full seat in several of them uses one seat.
Steps
- Open Settings → Members & guests.
- Find the person and choose a new role.
- If the change needs a full seat and none is free, you'll see the exact new monthly total. The owner can buy the seat in Settings → Billing.
- For guests, choose which projects they can see and whether they can comment.
Good to know
- People can belong to several workspaces with different roles.
- Guests never see billing, other projects or your workspace's uploaded assets library.
- Ownership transfer moves the included seat to the new owner; it never creates a second one. You stay on as an admin, so the new owner's subscription needs a full seat for you, for everyone else with a full seat in the workspace, and for pending full-seat invitations (people already seated on their account cost nothing extra). Someone on the Free plan has to subscribe before they can take a workspace over.
- If you accept an invitation to a workspace whose owner's subscription has lapsed, you join it read-only: you can view and download, and editing comes back when the owner renews. A workspace on the owner's Free plan can't take invitations, because the Free plan is just for its owner.
Common problems
- I can't make someone an Editor. All purchased full seats are in use. Buy a seat or free one up — see Adding and removing seats.
