HomeDesigner.io runs in your browser — no installs. Here's what we test and what works best.

Before you start

  • Find your browser version in its About page (for example Chrome → Settings → About Chrome).

"Full" means 2D editing, 3D, walkthroughs and exports. Internet Explorer and very old browsers aren't supported.

  • A device from the last five years with hardware graphics acceleration enabled.
  • 8 GB of memory or more for large multi-floor projects and 8K renders.
  • A screen at least 1280 px wide for the most comfortable editing; tablets are great for drawing with touch.

Phones

Phones support browsing, comments, account and billing, and practical room edits through adapted panels. Large projects and heavy renders work better on a tablet or computer.

Steps: keep big projects fast

  1. Update your browser to the current version.
  2. Turn on hardware (graphics) acceleration in your browser settings.
  3. Work on one floor at a time and hide floors you're not editing in 3D.
  4. Close other heavy tabs and applications.
  5. Use 2D for precise editing and switch to 3D to review.

If 3D can't start (no WebGL), 2D editing continues to work and we tell you why.

Common problems

  • "Your browser doesn't support 3D." Enable hardware acceleration or update the browser. 2D still works.
