2D and 3D are two views of the same model — change one and the other updates immediately.

Before you start

  • A browser with WebGL (all supported browsers have it). See Browser support.

Steps

  1. Press 3 or choose View in 3D. Press Shift+3 for a split view with 2D and 3D side by side.
  2. Orbit: drag. Zoom: scroll or pinch. Pan: right-drag or two-finger drag.
  3. Walk through: switch to Walk mode to move at eye level. Use W A S D or the arrow keys to move and drag to look around. On touch screens use the on-screen controls.
  4. Change floors: use the floor selector to look at one level at a time.
  5. Save a camera view: position the camera and choose Save view. Named views are shared with everyone on the project and can be used for renders.
  6. Share: a share link can open straight into 3D for clients or family. See Share links.

VR and AR

Walkthroughs work in any supported browser on desktop, tablet and phone, with no app or headset needed. With a VR headset (Meta Quest Browser and other WebXR headsets) choose View in VR to walk through at true scale; on an ARCore Android phone (Chrome) or an iPhone/iPad (Safari) choose AR / VR to place furniture in your own room. The button only appears for what your device supports. See VR headsets and AR on phones.

Common problems

  • 3D is black or missing. Your browser may have lost its graphics context (for example after the computer slept). Switching to 2D and back recovers it without losing work. If it persists, check hardware acceleration is turned on in your browser settings.
  • 3D is slow on a big project. View one floor at a time and close other heavy tabs. 2D editing is unaffected.
