On this page

The workbook opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice. Quantities come from your design; prices are yours.

Before you start

  • A design with rooms. Add doors, windows and furniture to fill the other sheets.
  • Optional: enter prices in Export → Budget estimate first; they're carried into the workbook.

Steps

  1. Choose Export → Schedules & estimate (XLSX), or Download XLSX in the Budget estimate dialog.
  2. Open the file. It has four sheets:
    • Rooms: floor, name, net and gross area, inside perimeter, ceiling height and type, floor finish, and a total.
    • Doors & windows: mark (D01, W01… matching the plan sheets), floor, type, style, width, height, sill, head height, wall thickness, the rooms either side, and phase.
    • Furniture & fixtures: sizes, height above the floor, phase and your unit price.
    • Estimate: flooring per finish, wall paint and each priced item.
  3. On the Estimate sheet, type prices in the yellow cells, and change the waste, labour and tax percentages. Amounts, the subtotal and the total recalculate.

Units

Every column header states its unit. Metric designs use millimetres and square metres; imperial designs use inches and square feet, as plain numbers so they sort and add up.

Also available

The same workbook (without your estimate prices) can be downloaded from the project's Export page.

Common problems

  • The totals show 0. Enter unit prices in the yellow cells; blank prices count as zero.
  • Areas differ slightly from the plan label. The plan rounds for display; the workbook keeps two decimals.
