A drawing set is a single PDF with one drawing per sheet, ready for a builder, a permit pre-check or your own records. Lines are true vectors: sharp at any zoom and printable at an exact scale.

Before you start

  • A design with walls. Add sections first if you want them in the set (see Elevations and sections).
  • Know your paper: Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A4, A3 or A2.

Steps

  1. Choose Export → Drawing set (vector PDF), or Drawing set in the Elevations & sections view.
  2. Choose the paper, orientation, scale and margins. One scale is used for every drawing sheet; Fit each sheet picks the largest standard scale that fits each drawing and prints it on the sheet.
  3. Tick the sheets you want:
    • G-001 cover with the sheet index, legend and notes
    • A-101, A-102… floor plans (one per floor) with door and window marks and section markers
    • A-201… elevations (north, east, south, west)
    • A-301… sections
    • A-601… schedules: rooms, doors & windows, furniture
  4. Choose Download PDF. If a drawing doesn't fit at the chosen scale, the dialog lists it and the sheet says so in red.
  5. Print at 100% / Actual size and check the calibration ruler on any sheet with a tape measure.

On every drawing sheet

  • A title block with the project, design, sheet title, scale, units, date and revision, and the sheet number with "n of N".
  • A legend for new, existing and demolition work.
  • A calibration ruler (for example 2 m or 10 ft) and, on plans, a north arrow.

Vector or image plans

Export → PDF at true scale also offers Vector (the default) or Image. Image embeds a 200 or 300 dpi picture of the plan exactly as the editor draws it, including detailed furniture symbols; use it if you prefer that look. Both print at the same exact scale.

Common problems

  • The ruler measures short. The printer scaled the page. Print at 100% / Actual size.
  • A sheet says part of the drawing is outside the sheet. Choose a smaller scale (1:100 instead of 1:50), larger paper, or Fit each sheet.
  • No sections in the set. Draw sections first in Elevations & sections; they're listed in the dialog.
