Try finishes before you buy them: flooring, paint, tile, stone and more — on one item, one room, one floor or the whole project.

Before you start

  • A room with walls (and ideally some furniture).

Built-in materials

Woods (natural oak, walnut, ash herringbone, pale maple), tiles and stone (white and grey porcelain, hexagon mosaic, terracotta, Carrara marble, slate, polished concrete), carpets, paints (warm white, greige, sage, navy, clay, charcoal), exposed brick, metals (brushed steel, brass), glass, fabrics and outdoor surfaces (composite decking, lawn, stone pavers, sand).

Steps

  1. Floor: select a room and choose a floor material in the inspector.
  2. Walls: select a wall and choose a material for each face — the inside and outside of a wall can be different.
  3. Objects: select an item and change its colour or material.
  4. Replace everywhere: open Materials → Replace material, choose the material to replace and the new one, and the scope (this floor or the whole project). Preview, then apply — it's a single step you can undo.
  5. Lighting: place lights from the Lighting category (pendants, ceiling lights, lamps). In 3D, switch between day and night presets to see the mood.

Need a specific paint colour or tile? Create your own materials with your colour, finish and texture.

Common problems

  • The colour on screen doesn't match the sample. Screens vary; treat colours as a guide and check physical samples in daylight.
  • Material didn't change everywhere. Check the scope: "this floor" doesn't change other floors.
