A flythrough is a smooth camera move through your design, saved as a video you can share.

Before you start

  • For a path through rooms, save two or more views in 3D (Views → Save this view) in the order you want to visit them. Or record a walk (below).

Steps

  1. In 3D, choose Render, then Video.
  2. Choose a Camera path:
    • Saved views flies through your saved views on this floor, in order.
    • Orbit circles the whole floor.
    • Recorded walk uses a walk you recorded. Choose Record a walk, move around in Walk or Orbit mode, then press Stop; the dialog reopens with your path.
  3. Set the Duration (4–60 seconds) and Resolution (720p, 1080p, and 4K where your browser's encoder supports it).
  4. Leave Gentle start and stop on to ease in and out.
  5. Choose Render video. Frames are rendered one at a time, so the motion is perfectly smooth even on a slow computer; the progress bar shows frames done and time left. Cancel render stops at any point.
  6. The video downloads automatically and plays in the dialog.

The camera moves at a constant speed along a smooth curve through your views, and turning on the spot is given time too, so pans never snap.

Formats

  • Videos are WebM (VP9, or VP8 on browsers without VP9), 30 frames per second. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and recent Safari use WebCodecs for exact timing.
  • Browsers without WebCodecs record in real time instead (up to 1080p), so rendering takes at least as long as the video. Safari may produce MP4 in that case.
  • MP4 export isn't available. Most players, PowerPoint and social sites accept WebM, or convert it with a free tool.

Common problems

  • "Saved views" isn't offered. Save at least two views on the current floor.
  • The video is slow to render. Long 4K videos are heavy. Try 1080p or a shorter duration, and keep the tab in front.
